Russia and China air forces team up for joint air patrol

Recently, a historic joint air patrol took place over the Chukchi Sea, the Bering Sea, and the northern Pacific Ocean involving Tu-95MS bombers from the Russian Aerospace Forces and Hong-6K bombers from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force. This mission marked a new area where Russian and Chinese crews practiced cooperation, with Russian Su-30SM and Su-35S aircraft providing fighter cover.

The patrol, lasting over five hours, included foreign fighter escorts at certain points along the route, all conducted in adherence to international law without any airspace violations. The collaborative effort was part of the 2024 military cooperation plan and emphasized that it was not targeted towards any third countries.

This display of unity between Russia and China showcases the strengthening military ties between the two nations and sets a precedent for future joint operations in the region.
