Border delimitation process in Gegharkunik region has not started yet, according to Governor Karen Sargsyan. He expressed uncertainty about the commencement of the process in a conversation with journalists after a government session. Sargsyan highlighted that if border delimitation occurs, Azerbaijan will have to withdraw from territories they occupied in 2021-2022. He emphasized that demarcation signifies mutual recognition of borders, leading to the return of the region’s territories back to Armenia. Sargsyan’s statements indicate the potential implications of the border delimitation process on territorial disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
