Sixteen more state-owned tertiary institutions have joined the student loan scheme coordinated by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, bringing the total number of registered institutions to 86.
The NELFUND Twitter account announced the addition, stating that it expands the reach of the program, with over 1.2 million students expected to benefit from President Bola Tinubu’s initiative. The President allocated N35bn for the scheme after signing the supporting law in April.
Education journalist Deborah Tolu-Kolawole reported on the development, highlighting the significance of institutions providing accurate student data to ensure student participation.
