UNIDO Projects in Uzbekistan: Driving Economic Competitiveness and Environmental Sustainability
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is making significant strides in Uzbekistan by implementing projects that focus on advancing economic competitiveness while safeguarding the environment. With a particular emphasis on the textiles and garments industry, UNIDO is introducing resource-efficient practices to enhance environmental sustainability.
Through projects like the sustainable upgrading of the textile and garment industries, UNIDO is supporting economic diversification and improving access to international markets. By strengthening productivity, competitiveness, and export capacities, UNIDO is also fostering innovation in branding, marketing, and product design.
Additionally, UNIDO has officially launched the Technical Support for the Transformation of Industrial Zones into Eco-Industrial Parks project. This initiative aims to enhance the environmental, economic, and social performance of industries in Uzbekistan by implementing EIP approaches in selected industrial parks.
With a budget of $3 million for projects in Uzbekistan, UNIDO is committed to driving sustainable development and fostering partnerships to create a more competitive industrial sector in the country.
