Tinubu urges united action to combat insecurity

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Minister Bosun Tijani, emphasized the need for a unified approach to tackle the country’s security challenges. Tinubu highlighted the importance of eliminating inter-agency rivalries and promoting collaboration among law enforcement agencies during the inauguration of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.

He pledged his administration’s commitment to enhancing the police force’s capabilities through the procurement of arms, recruitment, and training. Tinubu acknowledged the growing threat of cybercrime and reiterated his determination to combat all forms of criminality in the country.

The Federal Government has implemented various policy decisions, including the review of the National Cybercrime Strategy, to address cyber threats effectively. The collaboration between the NCC and the Office of the National Security Adviser was emphasized to enhance online activity monitoring.

Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun commended the NPF-NCC for its proactive interventions in combating cybercrime. Significant achievements, including the recovery of 70% of stolen funds and assets, were highlighted. Tinubu’s administration remains resolute in the fight against cybercriminals and other criminal elements to ensure security and stability in the country.\
