Supriya Sule: Country’s Issues Ignored in Current Policies

Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule criticized the Budget for 2024-25, stating it failed to address important issues like agrarian distress. She also called for assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, questioning the government’s delay in allowing people there to make decisions.

Sule emphasized the importance of investments, consumption, exports, and fiscal spending for economic growth, noting that corporate tax reductions have not resulted in increased investments. She highlighted concerns about an agrarian crisis, “shrinkflation” by FMCG companies, and the unfulfilled promises of schemes like Make in India.

She raised questions about the fiscal deficit, size of constituencies, and the effectiveness of new schemes like employment-linked incentives. Sule urged the government to share its economic plan to avoid a potential crisis.

Overall, Sule’s critique highlights key areas where the Budget may have fallen short in addressing critical issues facing the country.
