French police arrested a Russian man suspected of plotting destabilizing activities during the Paris Olympics on July 23. The investigation revealed sharing intelligence to incite hostilities in France. The suspect, born in 1984, faces up to 30 years in prison. Authorities found evidence of his plans during a search of his home.

Over a million individuals have been vetted for the Games, with 4,360 denied access due to concerns about foreign interference. A verification system was introduced by the French government to combat cybersecurity threats targeting the event. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin warned of the possibility of cyberattacks.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held between July 26 and Aug. 11. In a separate incident, three Serbian weapons factory engineers were arrested for spying for a foreign organization, highlighting the ongoing concerns about espionage.
