The Pakistani passport has once again been ranked among the worst in the world, coming in at 100th place tied with Yemen in the Henley Passport Index. With visa-free access to only 33 destinations, it is ranked higher than passports from Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
The top-ranking passport belonged to Singapore, with visa-free access to 195 destinations. Germany, Italy, Japan, France, and Spain tied for second place, while the UK, US, and UAE also featured prominently in the list.
The UAE’s significant rise in the rankings was attributed to its efforts to become a global hub for business and tourism. The correlation between visa-free scores and economic prosperity was highlighted, showing the importance of international travel for economic growth.
Despite the challenges faced by some passports, there is room for improvement through strategic efforts to enhance international relations and facilitate travel for citizens.
