NANS cautions against random tuition fee increases

Welcome to the latest update from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)! In light of the Federal Government’s introduction of student loans through the NELFUND scheme, NANS has issued a strict warning to tertiary institutions against raising tuition fees.

In a statement released after the 74th Senate sitting in Kano, Comrade Okunomo Adewumi highlighted that any institution found increasing tuition fees will face severe consequences from NANS. The student body is prepared to take decisive action to prevent exploitation under the guise of the student loan scheme.

NANS is advocating for a significant reduction in tuition fees across all tertiary institutions to alleviate the financial burden on students. While there are plans for mass protests regarding the current economic situation, NANS advises members to await the government’s response to their demands before taking further action.

As NANS remains vigilant in protecting students’ rights and interests, they stress the importance of peaceful protests and civil rights advocacy. However, any sabotage of government efforts will not be tolerated.

Stay informed with NANS and join in the movement for fair education policies in Nigeria!
