Ex-PM of Morocco criticizes silence on Israeli ship docking

In a recent development, Moroccan officials have remained silent on the alleged docking of an Israeli warship at a Moroccan port, leading to speculation and concern. Former Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane expressed his worry over the news and urged Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita to address the issue. The docking of an Israeli Navy ship in Tangier for supplies has raised questions, with opposition members calling for clarification from the government.

Pro-Palestine activists have also raised their voices, urging Mediterranean countries to prevent the docking of ships carrying military fuel for Israel. Countries like Spain have already taken a stand by refusing permission for ships carrying arms destined for Israel to dock at their ports. Amid anti-normalisation protests in Morocco and condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza, the government’s stance on normalisation with Israel remains unchanged.

As tensions continue to rise in the region, the need for accountability and action to support the Palestinian cause is more urgent than ever. The global community, including Mediterranean states, must come together to address the ongoing conflict and work towards a peaceful resolution.
