In-House Committees Formed to Fill Backlog Reserved Vacancies in Central Ministries
Central government ministries and departments have been instructed to establish in-house committees to identify and fill backlog reserved vacancies through special recruitment drives, as per the Lok Sabha update. Minister of State for Personnel, Jitendra Singh, stated that the process of filling vacancies, including backlog reserved positions, is ongoing.
Each ministry/department must appoint a deputy secretary or above as a liaison officer to ensure compliance with reservation orders. A special reservation cell is also mandated to assist the liaison officer. Reserved categories like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Communities are allotted specific percentages for direct recruitment and promotions.
The government has initiated mission mode initiatives like Rozgar Melas to expedite filling vacant posts across various states. By organizing these job fairs, the government aims to address the workforce shortage effectively.
