Turkmenistan is enhancing its capabilities for storing and transporting liquefied natural gas as part of the modernization of the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex (TOPC). Deputy Chairman of the Government, Batyr Amanov, shared this development during a Cabinet meeting. The TOPC not only refines oil but also produces liquefied gas for storage and shipment, using specialized tanks for consumers.
To meet the growing demand, Turkmenistan is expanding the terminal near the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex. Investments are pouring into the country’s liquefied gas industry to modernize production facilities and adopt cutting-edge technologies.
The Turkmengaz State Concern reports that Turkmenistan’s hydrocarbon reserves exceed 71 billion tons of oil equivalent, including over 20 billion tons of oil and 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
This strategic move aligns with Turkmenistan’s goal to strengthen its position in the global energy market and expand its role as a key player in the liquefied natural gas sector.
