PM orders FBR to ensure smooth refunds for exporters in Pakistan

In a bid to boost Pakistan’s exports and reach the $60 billion target, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a stern warning to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding delays in refunding exporters. Addressing the National Export Development Board (NEDB), the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of meeting the ambitious export goal within three years.

Acknowledging the efforts of the business community in surpassing the $30 billion mark in exports, PM Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the crucial role of government policies in boosting IT exports to over $3.2 billion. He also urged for improvements in extension services and agricultural exports to further enhance the country’s export potential.

Additionally, the Prime Minister stressed the need to reduce delivery times for exports to Europe and North America while promoting cooperation with Chinese export industries. Emphasizing the importance of research, development, and innovation in brand development, PM Shehbaz Sharif underlined the significance of enhancing exports.

The export sector representatives commended the Prime Minister for his proactive approach in resolving issues and ensuring timely refunds for exporters, expressing optimism about the future of Pakistan’s export industry.
