Palestinians in China unify under PLO for unity gov.

Palestinian Factions Agree to Unite Under PLO in China Summit

After a summit in Beijing, China, Palestinian factions such as Fatah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad have agreed to unite under the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The agreement includes forming an interim national consensus government and committing to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions.

The factions also agreed to follow up on implementing previous agreements to end division with the help of countries like Egypt, Algeria, China, and Russia. This includes establishing a temporary leadership framework for partnership in political decision-making until the formation of a new National Council.

Furthermore, the agreement emphasizes the right of Palestinians to resist occupation, self-determination, and holding general elections under the supervision of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission.

This development marks a significant step towards achieving comprehensive national unity among Palestinian factions and advancing the Palestinian cause on the global stage.
