Moscow Claims Seizing Small Village in Eastern Ukraine

Russia’s military has captured yet another small village in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region as part of its incremental advances in the area. The defense ministry announced the liberation of Ivano-Dariivka, a village that was just a few streets and houses before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Located around 30 kilometers northeast of Bakhmut, which was captured by Russian forces in 2023 after months of artillery fire, the village serves as another strategic gain for Moscow’s troops in the region.

Despite facing significant casualties, Kyiv is hopeful that the ongoing arrival of Western military aid on the front lines will help them push back against the Russian advance in Ukraine’s east. Moscow’s forces continue to press on slowly, leveraging their advantage in manpower and equipment to make further progress in the region.

This ongoing conflict highlights the need for unbiased reporting and independent journalism, as demonstrated by The Moscow Times’ commitment to providing accurate news despite being labeled a “foreign agent” by the Russian government. Support for independent journalism is crucial to ensuring the free flow of information and knowledge in today’s world.
