Malaysia evacuated 123 citizens from Bangladesh in response to violent unrest that has claimed dozens of lives. Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution welcomed the evacuees, including 80 students, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Over 50 Malaysians chose to stay in Bangladesh for work or study.
Despite the internet blackout and communication issues, Malaysia facilitated the safe return of its citizens. Cassandra David, a student at Dhaka Medical College, shared her experience and expressed gratitude for the support and information provided by Malaysian authorities during the unrest.
