The Director General of the Department of Statistics, Haidar Fraihat, has announced the upcoming pilot launch of the Interactive National Data Center, set to be fully operational by mid-next year. This initiative is a key component of Jordan’s economic reform strategy, aimed at improving public access to statistical data.
The Interactive National Data Center will provide intelligent and accessible data solutions to the public, incorporating advanced technology and statistical models for in-depth analysis. The center is part of the government’s plan to enhance data accessibility and utilization for researchers and policymakers.
In addition, Fraihat disclosed plans for the national population and housing census in 2025, starting this year and running until 2026. The census, targeting 2.5 million households, will leverage technology to streamline data collection and analysis, cutting data entry time and improving validation processes.
The Department of Statistics has also completed census work in Aqaba and refugee camps, with results expected to be announced soon. Furthermore, the National Statistics Strategy has been finalized, focusing on data quality and supporting decision-making processes.
Regular monthly surveys on various economic metrics will continue, highlighting Jordan’s commitment to data accuracy and public access.
