Imran urges CJP for quick review of reserved seats verdict in Pakistan

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has voiced his concerns over the alleged rushed review of a judgment regarding reserved seats by the Chief Justice of Pakistan. He highlighted that the PTI’s petition against human rights violations has been pending for months without any progress.

Khan urged the Chief Justice to recuse himself from hearing PTI-related petitions due to a conflict of interest stemming from his spouse’s public statements against PTI leadership. During a press briefing at Adiala Jail, Khan expressed worries about PTI workers facing military courts and the possibility of himself facing a court martial.

He dismissed rumors of a technocrat set-up, advocating for free and fair elections as the solution to economic instability. Khan criticized the PML-N government for high electricity costs due to agreements with power producers. He also condemned the attack on PTI’s secretariat and arrests of party workers.

In a separate development, PTI’s secretary general filed a petition against the blockage of the party’s official website, citing its role in providing information about PTI activities. Khan emphasized the need for democratic processes in light of ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan.
