Major Palestinian factions, including Hamas and Fatah, have agreed on national unity and decided to establish a “reconciliation government” after meetings in China.
At a gathering in Beijing, senior Hamas official Musa Abu Marzuk announced the signing of an agreement for national unity with other Palestinian groups, including Fatah. This marks a significant step towards unity among the factions.
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi praised the agreement, in which 14 Palestinian factions agreed to form an “interim national reconciliation government” to govern Gaza post-war. The parties emphasized the importance of reconciliation for achieving peace and stability in the region.
