Ukraine’s Armed Forces are enhancing their defense capabilities with the Starstreak missile, a high-speed weapon supplied by the U.K. The missile, known for its exceptional speed and precision, is being used by Ukrainian forces to counter Russia’s aerial advances.
The Starstreak, with its unique design of three tungsten darts accelerated to Mach 3.0, poses a significant threat to enemy aircraft. Equipped with a sophisticated laser-guidance system, it ensures accurate targeting and has proven effective in recent conflicts, including the downing of a Russian Mi-28 helicopter.
Ukraine also utilizes other MANPADS systems like the Stinger, RBS 70, and Igla for air defense. The Starstreak’s versatility, mounted on vehicles like the Stormer, provides additional firepower and strategic advantage on the battlefield.
