British parliamentarians have shown interest in helping the PTI “internationalise” their case over alleged intimidation and harassment faced by the party post ouster in 2022. Led by Conservative peer Lord Daniel Hannan and British Pakistani Labour MP Naz Shah, the event was attended by notable figures.

The US House of Representatives recently demanded a probe into Pakistan’s elections, condemning human rights violations. The discussion emphasized the need for international attention to the issues in Pakistan, with Lord Hannan stressing the importance of being friends of Pakistan.

The UK government plans to ban PTI and try its leader for sedition. The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has found Imran’s prosecution to be politically motivated without legal basis, calling for his immediate release and compensation.
