US consultant to work at Armenia’s Defense Ministry in near future: US Embassy

The US Department of State’s civilian consultant to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia is set to offer consultation support in the coming months, according to the US Embassy. The Global Defense Reform Program consultant, funded by the State Department, aims to strengthen Armenia’s defense institutions, not by the US Army or Department of Defense.

The US Embassy in Armenia stated, “The US Department of State’s Global Defense Reform Program supports partner states worldwide in building resilient, effective, and accountable security institutions through strategic level consultancy.” This move follows US Deputy Secretary of State Uzra Zeya’s confirmation that an American army representative will soon work with the Ministry of Defense in Armenia.

This collaboration signifies a significant step towards enhancing Armenia’s defense capabilities and fostering cooperation between the US and Armenian defense sectors. The initiative underscores the commitment to promoting global peace and security through sustainable defense partnerships.
