Air Defense Units Intercept Russian Kamikaze Drone, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Reports

Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk shared a video on social media showcasing Ukraine’s air defense units successfully intercepting a Russian kamikaze drone in the country’s southern region. The video, initially posted on Oleshchuk’s Telegram channel, captured the precision and skill of the air defense crew in neutralizing the threat.

Ukraine’s air defense forces demonstrated exceptional performance by shooting down 35 out of the 39 Shahed attack drones launched by Russia on Sunday. Additionally, the use of e-warfare capabilities enabled Ukraine to divert two incoming Kh-59/69 missiles away from their intended targets, ensuring the protection of Ukrainian airspace.

Lieutenant General Oleshchuk expressed gratitude towards the air defense crew for their accuracy and successful results in safeguarding the country against hostile incursions. The swift and effective response exemplifies Ukraine’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and national security.
