Ramaphosa asserts GNU as essential, not temporary

President Cyril Ramaphosa emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in the government of national unity (GNU) during a recent parliamentary debate. He highlighted the need for politicians to demonstrate their commitment to working together for the betterment of South Africa.

Ramaphosa outlined the key priorities of the seventh administration, including inclusive growth, job creation, poverty reduction, and building a capable state. He emphasized the alignment of policies and programmes with the social realities facing the country.

The president also discussed the government’s focus on addressing challenges such as state capture, lack of reforms, and the impact of Covid-19. He stressed the need for efficiency and strategic alignment to deliver services effectively to all citizens.

Ramaphosa reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing universal health coverage through the National Health Insurance and improving access to basic services like water, sanitation, and electricity. He underscored the importance of dialogue and interaction to make these programs impactful for all South Africans.

The seventh administration’s goal is to enhance service delivery, improve efficiency in local government, and ensure equal opportunities for all citizens to lead better lives.
