The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, is set to visit China on July 23 for a three-day trip, marking his first visit since the outbreak of the full-scale war. During the visit, Kuleba and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, will discuss the ongoing war with Russia, China’s role in achieving peace, and the relations between Ukraine and China.

While China has positioned itself as neutral in the conflict, it has deepened economic ties with Russia, drawing criticism from Ukraine. President Zelensky has accused China of sabotaging peace efforts, leading to tensions between the two countries.

Despite the challenges, Ukraine remains open to alternative peace plans proposed by China, as long as they adhere to international principles. The upcoming discussions between Kuleba and Wang will be crucial in determining the future of Ukrainian-Chinese relations in the context of the ongoing war.
