Kenyan President Ruto Vows to End Protests and Restore Peace

Kenyan President William Ruto has declared that the ongoing protests in the country must come to an end. Speaking after attending a church service in Rift Valley’s Bomet County, Ruto emphasized the need for peace and stability in the nation.

Ruto expressed his commitment to protecting the nation, its citizens, and their property. Despite making concessions to the demands of the protesters, he stressed the importance of maintaining order and upholding democratic processes.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has called for justice and outlined several demands, including compensation for victims of police brutality and the dismissal of protest-related cases. He proposed a National Conversation to address critical issues facing Kenya.

Ruto’s administration is facing scrutiny following violent demonstrations that led to casualties and property damage. The government has accused the US-based Ford Foundation of funding the protests.

As Kenya strives for stability, it remains crucial for leaders to engage in dialogue and address the concerns of all citizens.
