The Israeli army issued evacuation orders for Palestinians in eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis to relocate to al-Mawasi due to recent Palestinian attacks. The new orders were in response to rockets launched from the targeted areas, with exceptions made for health institutions.
To create a safe zone, the military adjusted the borders of a humanitarian area in al-Mawasi to keep civilians away from combat zones. However, Palestinians, the UN, and relief agencies have expressed concerns that there is no safe place left in Gaza, following previous deadly Israeli attacks in the same humanitarian-designated areas.
Reports from Al Jazeera and civil defense indicate that Israeli artillery attacks in eastern Khan Younis have hindered safe evacuation efforts. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the need to adjust the humanitarian area due to terrorist activity and rocket fire, making it dangerous for civilians to remain in the region.
Despite the efforts to secure the area, the situation remains tense and unsafe for Palestinians in Gaza.
