Illegal political mafia hampers anti-terror operation: DG ISPR

Uncovering the Truth: ISPR DG Exposes “Massive Illegal Political Mafia”

In a recent press conference, ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif shed light on a “massive, illegal political mafia” attempting to derail the state’s Azm-i-Istehkam operation for their own gain. The operation, aimed at counter-terrorism, has faced organized propaganda and false narratives.

Lt Gen Sharif emphasized the operation’s significance as a national effort and not just a military campaign. Despite concerns of displacement, he stressed the operation’s role in reinforcing the National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism.

Addressing recent events, Lt Gen Sharif clarified the army’s response to the Bannu rally violence and highlighted the need for maintaining law and order by the provincial government. He also discussed efforts to resolve issues with Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) through dialogue.

Furthermore, he condemned the spread of misinformation, labeling it as “digital terrorism” and called for accountability against those spreading false narratives online.

Overall, Lt Gen Sharif’s revelations provide a glimpse into the challenges faced by the military in upholding stability and security in the country amidst external pressures and internal conflicts.
