A massive inferno blazed through the port of Hodeida in Yemen, following Israeli airstrikes on July 20. The attack targeted key economic assets of the Houthi rebels in retaliation for a deadly drone strike in Tel Aviv. The strikes on the strategic port were a first for Israel in the Arabian Peninsula, sparking tensions in the region.

‘Strong’ condemnation from Iran

The airstrikes resulted in casualties and drew condemnation from Iran, a supporter of the Houthi group. In response, the rebels fired a missile towards Israel. These incidents add to the long-standing conflict involving Yemen, Israel, and Iran, impacting global trade routes and food prices.
