Yemeni Militia Vows Escalation in Attacks on Israel After Israeli Airstrikes
The leader of Yemen’s Houthi militia, Abdul Malik Al-Houthi, has declared a new phase of attacks on Israel in response to recent Israeli airstrikes on the city of Hodeidah. In a televised speech, Al-Houthi pledged to use more advanced weaponry to target Israel directly and evade their air defenses.
Israeli warplanes struck Hodeidah, hitting the city’s dock, power plant, and gasoline storage facilities in retaliation for a Houthi drone attack in Tel Aviv that resulted in casualties. The Houthis claim their actions are in support of Gaza and deny receiving weapons from Iran, stating that all their weapons are locally made.
As tensions escalate, the Yemeni government has condemned Israeli attacks on Hodeidah, warning of worsening humanitarian crises in Yemen. The government also urged Israel and Iran not to turn Yemen into a battleground and voiced support for an independent Palestinian state.
Amidst these clashes, the region remains on edge, with both sides preparing for further escalations in the conflict.
