The re-election of Donald Trump could lead to an expedited end to the war in Ukraine, as stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. This comes amidst the ruling Georgian Dream party’s divergence from the goal of Western integration, opting for alignment with isolationist forces like Russia. Kobakhidze’s remarks, made at the Conservative Political Action Conference, suggest potential benefits for Georgia if Trump secures a second term.

Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine involves territorial concessions to Russia, with his running mate JD Vance also endorsing such compromises. Meanwhile, Kobakhidze hinted at a possible NATO enlargement, contingent on regional stability. Additionally, Russian officials have offered assistance to Georgia’s ruling party to maintain power.

Russia announces willingness to help Georgian ruling party stay in power
