Moroccan Government Direct Support Program Benefits Over 3.8 Million Families
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fattah Alaoui, announced on Monday that the Moroccan government’s direct support program has reached over 3.8 million families, totaling 2 billion dirhams ($210 million) in aid. Out of the total beneficiaries, 2.3 million families receive aid related to child-related risks, while 1.5 million families benefit from lump sum grants.
The dedicated platform for the program has processed approximately 4.6 million applications with an 82% acceptance rate. Minister Alaoui highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure eligibility criteria are met through monthly reviews and electronic data exchanges.
During a recent parliamentary session, discussions also focused on healthcare reimbursements and pension issues. Despite recent injections of funds, Alaoui stressed the need for fundamental reforms to improve pension ratios. Additionally, strategies to reduce cash transactions and combat the informal economy were outlined, emphasizing the promotion of bank accounts for direct social support payments.
Overall, the Moroccan government is committed to supporting families in need and implementing measures to enhance financial stability for all citizens.
