The Russian military has dealt a heavy blow to a Ukrainian unit during redeployment by destroying two military trains carrying equipment and personnel of the 41st mechanized brigade. The ballistic missile strike, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, resulted in significant losses in personnel and materiel.
Drone footage shared by the ministry showed the moment when Iskander-M missiles hit the trains at a railway station near Barvenkovo, close to the Ukraine-Russia border. The attack resulted in the destruction of more than 60 pieces of military hardware, including US-made International MaxxPro mine-resistant vehicles (MRAPs) and Canadian-made Roshel Senator armored personnel carriers (APCs). It is estimated that up to 240 Ukrainian servicemen were killed or injured in the strike.
This incident is part of a series of attacks by the Russian military targeting Ukrainian forces during redeployment, causing heavy casualties and damage. The ongoing conflict between the two countries shows no signs of abating as both sides continue to engage in military confrontations.
