Józef Rufin Wybicki: A Heroic Figure

Wybicki, born in 1747, led a diverse career in law and politics. His collaboration with General Jan Dąbrowski during the Kościuszko Uprising resulted in the creation of ‘Dąbrowski’s Mazurek.’ Despite facing defeat, Wybicki and Dąbrowski’s efforts led to the establishment of the Polish Legions, solidifying their impact on Polish history.

Honoring Wybicki’s Legacy

Wybicki’s legacy lives on through his anthem, inspiring generations of Poles. His remains were reburied in 1923 in Poznań, commemorating his significant contributions to the nation.
