Former U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson praised Republican nominee Donald Trump’s potential to end the Russian war in Ukraine in an opinion piece for Daily Mail.
Johnson’s opinion was published shortly after a meeting with Trump in Washington during the Republican National Conference.
Johnson expressed confidence in Trump’s strength and bravery, citing an incident during a rally where Trump remained steadfast in the face of danger. He believed that Trump’s leadership style was what the world needed.
Johnson discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war with Trump and was convinced that Trump had the capability to bring peace to Ukraine. Despite previous controversies surrounding Trump’s views on the conflict, Johnson believed that Trump could end the war on favorable terms for Ukraine and the West.
