Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes on Houthi military targets near Yemen’s Hodeidah port, resulting in the death of three people and injuring 87 others. This retaliation came after a drone attack by the Iranian-backed group targeted Tel Aviv, Israel’s economic center.
The airstrikes focused on oil facilities and a power station, causing severe burns to the majority of the wounded. Al-Masirah TV, the primary news outlet of Yemen’s Houthi movement, reported the casualties quoting the health ministry.
Residents of Hodeidah reported hearing explosions throughout the city as the airstrikes intensified. Al-Masirah TV mentioned efforts by civil defense forces and firefighters to contain the fires inside the port’s oil tanks.
