Former Prime Minister Imran Khan made it clear that he is not interested in talks with the PPP to topple the government through a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly. After a hearing on a corruption reference, Khan emphasized the importance of free and fair elections as the only solution to the country’s crisis.
Regarding the government’s plan to ban PTI, Khan criticized it as an attack on democracy, stating that the ruling elite have prioritized their vested interests over the country’s well-being. He also addressed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s criticism of judges, pointing out PML-N’s support for judges when favorable decisions were made.
Furthermore, Khan’s spouse, Bushra Bibi, slammed the jail administration for their treatment of her husband, claiming discriminatory behavior and lack of support from PTI’s Barrister Syed Ali Zafar. The case proceedings included the conclusion of cross-examination for Azam Khan, with further hearings scheduled for former ministers Pervaiz Khattak and Zubaida Jalal on July 22.
Amidst these developments, Imran Khan reiterated the importance of fair governance and criticized the current system for resembling martial law practices.
