99.9% 찬성 대표 연임, 윤 탄핵 준비조 안내

Cho Kuk, the leader of the Innovation Party, was re-elected as the leader with 99.9% approval from party members. Cho stated, “I will prepare all necessary measures for the impeachment and resignation of President Yoon Suk-yeol” and indicated a more aggressive stance.

Cho posted on Facebook on the 21st, “The prosecution of South Korea stops right in front of Yoon Suk-yeol and Kim Geon-hee. To them, Yoon Suk-yeol is still the ‘boss’ with personnel authority, and Kim Geon-hee is V Zero.” He strongly criticized President Yoon and the prosecution.

Earlier, at the national party meeting held on the 20th at the Suwon Convention Center, Cho was re-elected as the leader with a 99.9% approval rate. He vowed to pursue all avenues, including a parliamentary standing committee, parliamentary investigation, and special prosecution, for the impeachment and resignation of President Yoon. He compared President Yoon to a “King of Constitution Destruction” and “Eom Seok-dae” in the novel “Our Twisted Heroes.”

Cho responded to questions from reporters about his judicial risk by saying, “Even if such an unfortunate event occurs, I do not think the Innovation Party will be destroyed just because Cho Kuk disappears.” He also expressed ambition to surpass a 15% approval rating nationwide by early next year through the localization of the party organization and the 2026 local elections and ‘national party formation’ as a plan. He was inaugurated as the representative after founding the Innovation Party in March and resigned as representative earlier this month to run for re-election as leader.

Kim Seon-min, a member of the Innovation Party, was elected as the top member with 59.6%, and Hwang Myeong-pil, chairman of the Ulsan City Party, was elected with 30.3%. Kim, the top vote-getter, will succeed Cho as leader.

Meanwhile, the Innovation Party plans to ask the National Investigation Headquarters on the 22nd to investigate the suspicion of the ‘comment team’ surrounding Han Dong-hoon, a candidate for the leader of the main opposition party.
