UN Confident in Iran’s Assistance for Regional Peace – Political Update

Iran’s Caretaker Foreign Minister, Ali Baqeri, met with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Joyce Msuya, at a UN Security Council meeting in New York, where he strongly condemned the massacre of innocent people in Gaza by the Zionist regime.

Baqeri called for immediate international action to prevent these crimes, stressing the need to stop the attacks and displacement of the people of Gaza. He emphasized the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, criticizing the US government for supporting the regime responsible for the ongoing genocide.

Baqeri urged the UN to lift the blockade on the Rafah border crossing and send aid to Gaza, asserting Iran’s capacity to achieve peace and security in the region. Msuya highlighted the UN’s efforts in addressing humanitarian issues and delivering aid to Gaza, emphasizing the importance of ending the current crisis.

She praised Iran’s constructive role in humanitarian issues and called for continued cooperation. The meeting underscored the need for immediate action to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and work towards lasting peace in the region.
