Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, passed away at 74 after battling pancreatic cancer, her office announced.
Representing Texas’ 18th congressional district for 30 years, Jackson Lee was a fierce advocate for the people and a humanitarian.
Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last month, she previously overcame breast cancer and ran for Houston mayor in 2021.
