In the occupied city of Luhansk, garbage continues to accumulate in the neighborhoods as the invaders do not prioritize its removal. Instead, they have installed video cameras to catch people who dump waste illegally, according to the head of the Luhansk Regional Military District Administration, Artem Lysohor.
Residents have not seen the promised specialized vehicles from Russia for waste management and the ones provided by the occupiers lack the necessary equipment, requiring additional purchases. Not only is garbage piling up, but there are also issues with water supply in some areas of the region, including the regional center.
The situation highlights the challenges faced by the residents under occupation, where basic services are lacking, and the authorities focus on monitoring waste disposal rather than addressing the root problems. It also raises questions about the effectiveness of the occupiers’ management and their priorities in governing the region.
