Limpopo police seize R2bn worth of drugs in massive drug bust

Police arrested four suspects, including the farm owner and two Mexican nationals, in an intelligence-driven operation in Limpopo. The operation was conducted by the Limpopo serious organized crime investigation team with assistance from the tactical response team.

According to the police ministerial spokesperson, suspicious activities were reported at the farm, leading to the raid. During the search, large quantities of chemicals used in the manufacturing of illicit drugs, including crystal meth worth an estimated R2bn, were seized from four structures on the property.

Since the beginning of the year, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation has uncovered 10 drug laboratories and made 34 arrests. The suspects will appear in court on Monday facing charges related to drug manufacturing and possession.

The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are not ruled out. This operation highlights the commitment of law enforcement to combatting drug-related crimes in the region.
