Amidst escalating tensions in the Israel-Hamas conflict, Israeli forces launched airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 30 Palestinians. The strikes targeted various areas, including the western and northern parts of Rafah, where tanks advanced deeper into the city.
Tragically, among the casualties was local journalist Mohammad Abu Jasser, along with his family, who were killed in an Israeli strike on their house. The death toll adds to the grim statistics, with 161 Palestinian media personnel killed by Israeli fire since October 7.
The violence continued with the Israeli military conducting further strikes, resulting in the deaths of 37 Palestinians in the last 24 hours. In Rafah, intense gun battles ensued as tanks clashed with Hamas-led fighters.
Efforts to broker a ceasefire have so far failed, as both sides remain entrenched in their positions. Israel’s vow to eradicate Hamas following a deadly attack in October has only escalated the conflict, with thousands of lives lost on both sides.
The situation remains dire, with ongoing military operations in Gaza leading to more casualties and destruction. The quest for peace seems elusive as the conflict shows no signs of abating.
