Iranian short film selected for Gibara Film Festival

A mother’s unique occupation takes center stage in the 14-minute short film produced in 2023. The film follows a mother who specializes in catering for funerals and parties, while her daughter holds contrasting views about her mother’s line of work.

Featuring talented cast members such as Linda Kiyani, Maryam Boobani, Hilda Kordbache, and Hanan Azizi, the film explores themes of family dynamics and societal perceptions.

The 18th Gibara International Film Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic), and the Government of Holguín, is set to take place from August 6 to 10, 2024. The festival, located in the municipality of Gibara in eastern Holguín, welcomes submissions of films from any nationality, encompassing various genres such as long-length fiction, short-length fiction, documentaries, animation, and experimental audiovisual works.
