Exciting developments are on the horizon in the South Caucasus region, as Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani of Iran announced plans for the next meeting of the 3+3 format cooperation platform. This platform, consisting of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, and Turkey, aims to enhance regional cooperation and stability.
Ambassador Sobhani also highlighted the positive impact of the Iranian consulate in Kapan, which has facilitated cross-border communication and supported local issues. Notably, the consulate’s efforts led to increased participation of Iranians living in Armenia in the recent presidential elections in Iran.
Further emphasizing Iran’s stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ambassador Sobhani reiterated Tehran’s support for the territorial integrity of both Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized the importance of security and stability in the region, expressing Iran’s readiness to provide support in achieving this goal.
With the upcoming meeting set to take place in Turkey, initiated under Iran’s proposal, the region is poised for continued collaboration and progress under the 3+3 format.
