Russia’s Losses in Ukraine: A Grim Tally

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Russia has suffered devastating losses, with the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reporting a total of 564,620 troops lost as of July 19. This staggering number includes 980 casualties sustained by Russian forces in just one day.

Additionally, the report reveals the extent of Russia’s losses in terms of military equipment: 8,250 tanks, 15,902 armored fighting vehicles, 20,909 vehicles and fuel tanks, 15,520 artillery systems, and much more. The sheer scale of these losses paints a grim picture of the toll the conflict has taken on Russia’s military capabilities.

One striking example is the loss of Russian T-90M tanks, with 100 of them destroyed, damaged, abandoned, or captured – surpassing the initial count of 67. This revelation raises questions about the efficacy of Russia’s military strategy and the true cost of the conflict.
