Jordan calls in Dutch ambassador over far-right leader’s anti-Palestinian comments

Jordan has taken a stand against far-right Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders for his remarks against the Palestinian people. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry summoned the Dutch Ambassador to deliver a strong protest message, condemning Wilders’ statements aligning with Israel’s decision to reject the establishment of a Palestinian state. The resolution passed by the Israeli Knesset claims a Palestinian state in Israel would threaten the nation’s existence.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry demanded that the Dutch government condemn Wilders’ remarks, calling them racist and a violation of international law. Wilders, known for his anti-Islam views, has a history of denying Palestinian rights, even suggesting Jordan could bear the burden of resolving the Palestinian issue.

The ministry’s response underscores the importance of combating racial hatred and upholding the rights of the Palestinian people to their own independent state. By standing up against Wilders’ inflammatory rhetoric, Jordan sends a clear message in support of international law and human rights.
