An Air India Boeing 777 made an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, due to a potential fire on board. Despite triggering a fire alarm in the cargo hold, no fire or smoke was discovered upon landing. The 244 passengers, including 19 crew members, were safely evacuated with no injuries reported.
Russian authorities confirmed no serious damage to the aircraft and are conducting further investigations. Air India is coordinating a ferry flight to San Francisco for passengers. This incident is not the first, as a similar emergency landing occurred in Magadan in June 2023.
