South Korea and China are set to hold the 10th round of strategic dialogue between their foreign ministers in Seoul on the 24th.
On the 19th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that “Kim Hong-kyun, the first vice minister of foreign affairs, is scheduled to hold the 10th round of strategic dialogue between South Korea and China with Ma Jiaoshu, deputy head of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Seoul on the 24th.”
The ministry explained that this round of foreign ministerial dialogue between South Korea and China is being held in the wake of the dialogue between President Yoon Suk-yeol and Chinese Premier Li Chang during the 9th South Korea-China-Japan summit held in Seoul on May 26-27 to restart a communication channel for diplomacy and security in both countries, adding that the two countries are expected to exchange views on bilateral relations, Korean Peninsula issues, regional and international situations, and other mutual interests.
This South Korea-China foreign ministerial dialogue will take place for the first time in 2 years and 7 months since the outbreak of COVID-19 in December 2021.
