FERMA commences road rehabilitation in Rivers to fix failed roads

Welcome to FERMA’s Road Maintenance Project in Rivers State

Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) is committed to systematically recovering failed sections of federal roads in Rivers State. Engr. Adoga Asikhia, the engineer in charge of FERMA’s Rivers State Field Office, emphasized the agency’s focus on patching potholes, reinstating failed sections, and strengthening pavements on the ongoing road maintenance project in Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre local government areas.

The project, which started last year, aims to ensure the road is always in good condition. Motorists are urged to follow speed limits and safety rules to prevent accidents, especially on roads with bends and inadequate drainage facilities.

Although funding remains a challenge, FERMA’s management ensures funds are available for maintenance activities. Asikhia highlighted the importance of improving drainage infrastructure to prevent road failures and called on the state government to address this issue.

The FERMA project in Rivers State includes the Port Harcourt-Isiokpo-Elele-Omerelu-Imo State border road and the Airport link road. Stay tuned for more updates on our efforts to enhance road safety and infrastructure in the state.
